Dawn Hogan-Lopez

Dawn Hogan-Lopez has always believed that public school has the power to positively influence change in the world by delivering the best education to every child.  She has committed 22 years to that mission, serving as a teacher and campus leader (principal, assistant principal, and instructional coordinator) as well as a district leader. Additionally, she believes that literacy is a great equalizer, which is why Dawn has led and supported early literacy initiatives throughout her career as an educator. She is truly passionate about equity, social justice in schools, leadership, and – most importantly – literacy, which makes being a Cohort Leader a dream job for her!  Dawn is married to a super great guy named Marc, and they share their life and love with their 14-year-old son, Julian, who is about to be a freshman.  They also share their home with a Golden Retriever named Massimo, a Great Pyrenees named Zena, and a cat named Cinder. The Lopez family are proud Aggies, so faith, family, football (and dogs) sums up the Lopez Crew.

Amy Montemayor

Amy Montemayor is currently in her 24th year in the education field.  From a young age, she dreamed of having a classroom and students of her own to teach.  She is passionate about early literacy and helping all students learn how to read and become successful in life.  Early on in her career, she taught kindergarten and first grade before having the opportunity to train in dyslexia intervention through Scottish Rite.  In addition to teaching in the classroom, she has served as a literacy interventionist, instructional coach, and as a guide and facilitator of RTI/MTSS and dyslexia in her district.  I enjoy not only teaching and learning from students but adult learners as well.
