Reading Academies 11 Preregistration Digital Playbook: Implementation Options
Currently, districts have four implementation options from which to choose. You can opt to contract with an Authorized Provider for both logistical and content support, or implement locally. Whichever you select, you have the choice of enrolling participants in either Blended (online) or Comprehensive (in-person) content. Below you will find a basic overview of the four implementation options.
Any district implementing locally must work with Reading Academies 11 to ensure that all Cohort Leaders hired by the district have passed the TEA Cohort Leader screening process. For more information on the screening process, please visit the TEA Cohort Leader Screening Process webpage.
In addition, the Texas Education Agency will reopen the Authorized Provider application in December of 2020. At that point, your district can apply to serve as your own Authorized Provider. More information about this process can be found at the TEA Reading Academies webpage.
If your district feels that your teachers have already mastered the content that will be available through Reading Academies, you have the option of enrolling those teachers in a Reading Academies Fast-Track cohort. Fast-Track cohorts give teachers the opportunity to test out of Reading Academies content while meeting the House Bill 3 Reading Academies requirement. Please see below for more information.
