    The ESC Region 11 Business Center provides technical assistance and training to school districts and charter schools in the area of finance and business services.  We provide full-service accounting, payroll, benefits, summary of finance, and budgeting support resulting in cost savings to our clients.

     Purchasing
     
    The main function of Region 11 purchasing services is to provide internal customers with methods to procure their products and services in accordance with the State of Texas procurement laws for government entities. Region 11 also provides purchasing support to the school districts within its region.   • Upcoming Training Opportunities

    Finance Officer and Business Manager Roundtable Discussion
    Wednesday Feb. 6, 2019
    10:00 - 12:00

     The ESC Region 11 Business Center presents quarterly roundtable discussions for CFOs, business managers, and business office personnel. We will be discussing topics submitted by districts as well as other important items in school business. This will include discuss updates on recent TEA correspondence, legislative updates, and any other items about which you might have questions. Lunch will be provided and will allow time to network and discuss various topics with colleagues from around the area. Lunch will be provided.  2 CPE hours are available for this session.

    Public Funds Investment Training

    The Business Center at ESC Region 11 is hosting a Public Funds Investment Training. This session is presented by guest speaker Patrick Shinkle, Associate Director for the Center for Public Management at the University of North Texas. Shinkle has more than 17 years of experience in public funds management in Texas, including 12 years as Administrator of LOGIC and five years as part of the TexPool management team. Shinkle has spoken on investment management, disaster recovery planning, computer security awareness, and technology-related issues. CPAs will receive CPE credit.  Lunch will be provided.  4 CPE hours are available for this session 
     
     
     

     
     
     
  • School Finance Information Update from Hank Johnson, CPA

    In partnership with the ESC Region 11 Business Center, Hank Johnson will review timely TEA correspondence that will be e-mailed to area Superintendents and Chief Financial Officers. This information is also available here on our website by using the links below.

  • Business Center
     
    For member school district and charter schools, the Business Center assumes the role of corporate controller and maintains the general ledger on a computerized accounting system that keeps track of all accounting functions within full compliance of the Texas Education Agency's Financial Accountability Resource Guide. The Business Center uses a costing method that incorporates clustering school districts and charter schools into an efficient processing model, built on efficiency, compliance, effectiveness, and reporting.
