Welcome to the New Educational Diagnostician Academy session guide! This guide has been specifically designed to support your growth and development during your first three years of work in the field. As a new educational diagnostician, you will be responsible for assessing and identifying students' learning needs, writing evaluation reports, managing ARD meetings, and assisting in the development of appropriate educational plans.
Through a combination of in-person and virtual sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of assessment and ARD management and gain a comprehensive understanding of the tools and techniques used in identifying disabilities. You will also have the opportunity to network with other new diagnosticians and work closely with experienced professionals who will provide you with guidance and support as you navigate your first few years in the field.
The academy is designed to be flexible and self-paced, with sessions available multiple times throughout the year. This allows you to attend sessions that fit your schedule best. Although there are guidelines for session progression each year, you have the freedom to complete the sessions at your own pace and within a comfortable timeframe, progressing through the content at your own speed.
