ELAR (Grades K-2) Sessions
The Early Childhood English Language Arts and Reading team specializes in coaching, professional development, technical assistance, and resources for prekindergarten through second-grade teachers.
Our work is centered around best instructional practices with an emphasis on literacy and pedagogy using high-quality instructional materials aligned to grade-level standards.
Our goal is to provide rich experiences which help teachers provide a solid foundation and instill a love for learning.

Join us as we travel to spectacular destinations that support you in your first years of early childhood. We will explore setting up your environment, instructional best practices, supporting language development, and assess learning. The session is offered:

ESC Region 11 invites you to the ELAR instructional leaders and coaches meeting on Feb. 24, 2025 from 9 a.m. - noon. This session will provide information and updates about ELAR curriculum and assessments to K-12 instructional leaders. The in-person meeting accounts for three credit hours.

Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) RLA are 3-5 instructional strategies representing the most significant changes needed to bridge the gap between research and practice. This fast-paced, one-day RLA RBIS session will cover Foundational Skills, Text Complexity, Knowledge Coherence, and Text-Based Responses.
Participants will explore thinking differently about RLA and what changes could benefit the students they serve.
This session is FREE for participants from LEAs that have purchased the Instructional Solutions and Support Contract, $220 per person for all other Region 11 LEAs, and $440 per person for all other regions. Participants will receive six credit hours for this course. Register here.
