Chapter 37

Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code (TEC) governs student discipline, law enforcement, and order within Texas public schools. It establishes comprehensive guidelines for managing student behavior, including the development and enforcement of a Student Code of Conduct.

The chapter details procedures for disciplinary actions such as suspension, expulsion, and placement in disciplinary or juvenile justice alternative education programs. It also addresses critical safety issues like bullying, harassment, and threats, mandating proactive measures to ensure a secure and supportive learning environment for all students. Source: Texas Education Code, Chapter 37 – Discipline; Law and Order
