GoLead11 Superintendent

GoLead11 Superintendent

GoLead11 Superintendent Certification Program is a one-year preparation program for superintendent certification. Candidates will acquire knowledge and skills in a problem-based learning approach.

The program is open to candidates in ESC Region 11 districts as well as other Texas school districts.  Charter and private school administrators may enroll as well. Highly qualified candidates who are recommended by superintendents are sought for the program. Candidates must receive approval from the district’s superintendent for program participation.

About two-thirds of the classes are conducted live via the Zoom platform. The remaining one-third of the training is provided via asynchronous Canvas courses. Training includes seminars delivered by practitioners in the field, field-based experiences, and monthly support through a mentor selected by the candidate.

The ten Texas Superintendent Competencies provide the foundation for all the training with the goal of successful passage of the TExES 195 Superintendent Test.

Program Goals

  • To assist school districts with formalized succession planning resulting in the development of quality educational leaders for the future.
  • To attract capable leaders to the superintendent position.
  • To offer an alternative preparation and certification process.
  • To provide tomorrow's school district leaders with practical knowledge and relevant problem-based preparation.
