GoLead11 Principal

The GoLead11 Principal Program is a blend of live sessions and online coursework. Live sessions are held during the summer and are available both in person and virtually. The program is designed to be completed within one year.

GoLead11 hosts two cohorts each year. One begins in January and one in June. The deadline for completed applications is the first Friday of the month prior to the start month. (For example: The deadline for the June application is the first Friday in May, and the deadline for the January cohort is the first Friday in December.)

An application is only complete when all required documents have been submitted, including the district agreement and the mentor agreement, along with other documents.

• Be employed as a teacher or administrator at a TEA accredited school
• Have two years of creditable teaching experience (as shown on service record)
• The second year may be in progress at the time of the application – must be completed before the end of the cohort.
• Hold a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Hold, at a minimum, a valid Texas Standard Teaching Certificate
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on Master's Degree
• Receive your district's recommendation
• Perform acceptably on a writing sample (part of the application process)

• $6,000 Program Fee
  • $500 due with acceptance of enrollment
    • Remaining balance will be divided into equal monthly payments.
    • Payroll deduction is an option at the start of enrollment into the program.
    • Exam fees are paid directly to PEARSON and ETS at the time of registration.
      • TExES 268 exam – $200
      • PASL – $375
• $37 State Technology Fee
• $78 Standard Certificate Fee (paid directly to TEA upon successful completion of the program)

The Principal as an Instructional Leader certificate is issued by the state upon recommendation from the program.

GoLead11 does not offer an advisory opinion on one's criminal history; however, under recent legislation (HB963-Guillen) SBEC (State Board for Educator Certification) is required to issue, upon request, a criminal history evaluation letter to people contemplating entering a profession requiring a license. This will help individuals determine if they would be denied a license/certification because of their criminal history.
