Online learning is education that takes place over the Internet. It is often referred to as “e-learning” among other terms. However, online learning is just one type of “distance learning” - the umbrella term for any learning that takes place across distance and not in a traditional classroom.
Learning in the online environment can be just as engaging, exciting, and rigorous as learning in a face-to-face environment. Just like lesson planning in the classroom, you need to keep in mind HOW students will learn and "show what they know" as you plan for your teaching. If you are new to online learning, there are a few steps you can take to help "chunk" the tasks you will likely need in order to move forward quickly.
"New" can be both exciting and intimidating. To mitigate anxiety, we suggest you focus on PLAY, PLAN, PUBLISH.
