Early Childhood/Prekindergarten

The PreK team offers services to teachers and district leaders of students 3, 4, and 5 years old to assist districts in providing high-quality programs for young students. The following topics are offered as professional development and technical assistance opportunities for districts on a regular basis:

  • Beginning Teacher Academy for PreK, K, and PPCD Settings

    In this 5-day academy, beginning teachers of students receiving instruction in PreK, K, and special education settings for students ages 3-5 will explore: normal development and the influences of disabilities and second language learning on development, learner-centered physical environment, including arrangement of spaces, places, tasks and events, behavior management basics and working with families.
