The mission of the ESC Region 11 Math Collaborative is to increase district capacity to ensure K-12 math teachers have the knowledge and skills to engage students in meaningful math learning experiences. To accomplish this mission, the ESC Region 11 Math Collaborative, in partnership with Texas Woman's University, will provide approximately 100 hours of sustained, high intensity math professional development to district/charter recommended certified teachers and private school teachers. These teachers must be committed to completing the 100 hours of staff development to become a Math Teacher Mentor (MTM). Each MTM will serve as a district and/or campus professional development resource for math content, pedagogy and mentoring on their campus and/or in their district/charter. This model of staff development is designed to improve student academic achievement and strengthen the quality of math instruction in the classroom.
