The Certification Department assists college graduates who meet specific criteria to obtain Texas certification in several areas. Certification is acquired while a person is employed and receiving a salary while completing the State Board for Educator Certification’s approved training curriculum provided through ESC Region XI. Other available certification avenues are clinical teaching, similar to student teaching, for teacher candidates and an unpaid summer internship for administrators. For general questions on Texas certification and No Child Left Behind, a certification officer is available to school districts and the public at large.
